A New Collaboration!

FC Surge is excited to announce a new partnership with Pinecrest Premier Soccer Club for the 2021 season! This collaboration brings together the highest level of women's soccer in South Florida and a preeminent youth club with a well-established girls program built upon similar values and goals. We look forward to working together with PPSC to foster a seamless transition for local female athletes from youth, high school, and collegiate levels.
The Surge has been the highest level of women’s soccer in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties since 2013, playing in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). The WPSL is the largest amateur women’s soccer league in the world and has been in existence since 1998 with currently over 140 teams across the country. This season, the WPSL Sunshine Conference is split into two divisions North and South. The North division consists of Tampa Bay Rowdies, Tampa Bay United, RADD FC, Florida Premier FC, Clermont Kicks, and Florida Krush. The Surge play in the South division with Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions, Cape Coral Cyclones, Team Boca Blast, Sunrise Prime FC, and Miami United FC. Each team plays a home and an away game with their respective division opponents.
The 2021 season begins on May 22nd for the Surge with an away game in Fort Myers vs Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions, Surge’s first home game is June 13th also vs FGCDL. Conference Championships will be decided July 23-25 featuring the top two teams in each division. There will be no Regional or league-wide Championships this season due to continued Covid19 protocols.
Try Outs were held over the last two weeks and roster selections to be announced this week. 5th year Surge Head Coach Ramiro Vengoechea is also the Girls Director at PPSC. Iko de Oliveira of Elite Striking serves as Assistant Coach for his 2nd season. Also on the coaching staff this season is Shawn Chin.  Players range in age from 18 to 35+ and are all current or post grad college athletes. Several of Surge Alumni have gone on to play professionally and internationally.
